Playoff berths will be on the line for both No. 2 East Mississippi Community College and No. 20 Itawamba Community College tonight.
Each team can clinch a berth in the Mississippi Association of Junior and Community Colleges with a victory.
EMCC (7-0 overall, 4-0 MACJC North Division) plays at Northwest Mississippi Community College (1-6, 1-4), with a 6:30 p.m. kickoff in Senatobia.
Itawamba (5-2, 3-1) will play host to Northeast Mississippi Community College (3-4, 3-1) with a 7 p.m. start at Eaton Field in Fulton.
EMCC will be attempting to secure its sixth straight playoff berth under Buddy Stephens. The Lions can actually win their fifth North Division title in Stephens’ six seasons with a win and a Northeast victory in Fulton.
Itawamba has not qualified for the postseason since winning the North Division championship in 2007.
Northeast returns to the postseason for the first time since 2011 with a win tonight.
In the final week of the regular season, EMCC will play host to Itawamba on Oct. 24 in Scooba.
In the South Division, No. 6 Jones Junior College (6-1, 4-1) wins the division with a win at Southwest Mississippi Community College (2-5, 1-3).
If that happens, Gulf Coast Community College (6-1, 3-1) plays host to Copiah-Lincoln Community College (6-1, 3-1) for second place Saturday.
