STARKVILLE – A charge of domestic violence against former Mississippi State defensive back Justin Cox has been dropped.
Cox, a senior from West Point, pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of trespassing on Jan. 6, and the charge of domestic violence was dismissed at the request of the victim, according to Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Brett Watson.
The charges stemmed from a Nov. 21 arrest off-campus in Oktibbeha County. After Cox posted his bail, which was set at $20,000, he was suspended for the final three games of his MSU career.
Cox is currently near Miami, Florida, where he is training for the upcoming NFL Draft. On Tuesday, he received an invitation to the NFL Scouting Combine.
A former junior College All-American at East Mississippi Community College, Cox started 21 games during his MSU career and had two interceptions, including a game-sealing pick in MSU’s 38-23 win over then-No. 2 Auburn on Oct. 11.
