STARKVILLE — The Mississippi State women’s basketball team will learn its destination tonight when it plays host to an NCAA Selection Show watch party at Dawg House Sports Grill at 217 E. Main St. in downtown Starkville.
The program begins at 5:30 p.m. The selection show will tip off at 6 p.m. on ESPN.
In addition to the selection show, fans can also enjoy food and beverage specials at the event, which is free to the public.
MSU’s at-large selection to the NCAA tournament is the culmination of a record-setting campaign that has seen Vic Schaefer’s squad set school records for wins (26) and league victories (11). The team also matched the best Southeastern Conference finish in program annals with a third-place showing.
MSU also bettered last season’s record attendance mark as 67,598 attended games at Humphrey Coliseum. The home slate culminated with a crowd of 7,326, the largest in Mississippi history for a women’s college game, on hand for a 55-47 win against rival Ole Miss.
The Bulldogs will earn their seventh trip to the “Big Dance,” and the first since the 2010 squad made a run to the school’s first Sweet 16.
