Starkville High moved to 11-0 with a pair of girls’ basketball victories in the Joe Horne Columbus Christmas Classic.
Starkville beat Horn Lake 61-52 Saturday afternoon.
In that win, Tabreea Gandy had 22 points, while Kelsey Jones had 15 points and Tanita Thompson had 12 points.
On Friday, Starkville beat Sipsey Valley (Alabama), 71-43.
Kelsey Jones had 27 points, while Tanita Thompson had 14 points and Tabreea Gandy had 10 points.
n Starkville boys win twice: At Tupelo, the Yellow Jackets moved to 11-1 with a pair of victories in the Tupelo All-American Classic.
Behind 43 points from Tyson Carter, Starkville beat Pontotoc, 80-57 Saturday. Keith Harris added 15 points.
On Friday, Starkville beat Aberdeen, 71-35.
Harris led the Yellow Jackets with 23 points in that win.
n West Lowndes sweeps Noxubee County: The Panthers and Lady Panthers won a pair of games at home Friday night.
The West Lowndes boys moved to 5-4 with a 63-56 win.
JaQuante Bell and C.J. Smith each had 20 points, while Marcus Farmer added 11 points.
The West Lowndes girls are also 5-4 after a 65-53 win.
n Starkville Academy splits with Pillow Academy: At Greenwood, the Volunteers and Lady Volunteers won road games Friday night.
The Starkville Academy boys won, 60-54.
Luke Templeton had 17 points and Codie Futral added 11 points for the Volunteers.
The Starkville Academy girls lost, 44-43.
Bonner Hughes had 18 points and Sarah Pellum had 11 points for the Lady Volunteers.
