BALDWYN -- The West Lowndes Panthers were outscored only one quarter Friday, but that quarter was the difference as they suffered a 53-49 loss to West Bolivar in the semifinals of the MHSAA Class 2A North State Tournament.
West Lowndes (19-7) was outscored 20-15 in the fourth quarter to suffer the season-ending loss. The Panthers took a 34-33 lead into the final period after the score was tied 12-12 at the end of the first quarter and 22-22 at halftime.
West Lowndes was led in scoring by Demetrius Malone with 16 points and Tyquan Lucious with 15.
The leading scorers for West Bolivar were Mack Foster with 22 points and Millaum Brown with 15.
n Cleveland East Side 76, Aberdeen 50 (B): At Holly Springs, the Aberdeen Bulldogs got off to a slow start and never recovered in suffering a season-ending loss Friday in the MHSAA Class 3A North State Tournament.
Aberdeen (17-12) was outscored each quarter, falling behind 24-8 at the end of the first quarter and trailing 41-24 at halftime.
The only player to score in double figures for Aberdeen was Anthony McDonald with 14 points.
East Side was led by Cortavious Vaughn with 23 points, Ramon Wesley with 22 points and Laquavius Cotton with 14.
n Ripley 55, Aberdeen 51 (G): At Belmont, the Aberdeen Lady Bulldogs were unable to hold onto a lead at the end of the third quarter Friday, suffering a season-ending loss in the MHSAA Class 3A North State Tournament.
Aberdeen led 43-37 before being outscored 18-8 in the fourth quarter.
The leading scorers for Aberdeen were Jameika Hoskins with 18 points and Janee Hodges and Michelle Stewart with 10 points each.
Ripley was led by Lanesha Cox with 23 points and Becky Ruckes with 12.
n McAdams 63, East Oktibbeha 56 (B): At Dexter, the East Oktibbeha Titans were outscored by 14 points in the fourth quarter to lose a lead and the game to McAdams on Friday in the MHSAA Class A South State Tournament.
East Oktibbeha led 45-38 before being outscored 25-11 in the final period.
East Oktibbeha''s high scorers were Casey Neal with 23 points, Douglas Chandler with 14 and Geonte Richardson with 10.
The top scorers for McAdams wereJekele Snow with 23 points and Patrick Lewis with 20.
n McAdams 78, East Oktibbeha 34 (G): At Brookhaven, the East Oktibbeha Lady Titans didn''t score in double digits in any quarter Friday to have its season come to an end in the MHSAA Class A South State Tournament.
East Oktibbeha trailed 23-9, 47-17 and 68-25 at the quarter breaks en route to the loss.
Kelcie Lanier was the only player for East Oktibbeha to score in double figures with 12 points.
Kierra Gilmore scored 34 points for McAdams, followed by Kanesha Phillips with 18, Dierra Gilmore 12 and Precious Ellington with 10.
n Shaw 82, West Oktibbeha 74 (G): The West Oktibbeha Lady Timberwolves had their season come to an end Friday with a loss in the MHSAA Class A North State Tournament.
n Lafayette County 65, Amory 44 (G): The Amory Lady Panthers were outscored each quarter Friday in dropping a season-ending loss in the MHSAA Class 4A North State Tournament.
Amory fell behind 18-6 at the end of the first quarter and went on to trail 33-18 at halftime and 49-33 after the third period.
Scoring in double figures for Amory were Keonna Ford with 18 points and Alexandria Thompson and Uneekqua Collins with 12 points each.
Phylisha Fondren scored 17 points, Shaquilla Isom scored 16 and Nikki McChristian scored 12 for Lafayette County.
