DESTIN, Fla. — The Mississippi State football team’s 2017 home schedule will feature at least two games under the lights in Davis Wade Stadium, the Southeastern Conference announced Wednesday at spring meetings.
MSU’s game against LSU on Sept. 16 will kick off at 6 p.m. on ESPN or ESPN2. The Egg Bowl returns to Thanksgiving night for a 6:30 p.m. prime-time start (ESPN) in Starkville.
It marks the eighth-straight year the MSU-LSU will be a prime-time game. The series has been decided by five points or less in each of the last three meetings.
The remainder of MSU’s television schedule will be announced at a later date.
n Ole Miss will kick off its season at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 2 against South Alabama. ESPNU will broadcast the game.
A Sept. 16 road trip to play the California Golden Bears will feature a 9:30 p.m. kickoff on ESPN.
n Southern Mississippi will play host to UTEP at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, for its Homecoming game.
n Alabama’s first two home games will air on ESPN or ESPN2.
Alabama will open its home schedule at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 9 against Fresno State at Bryant-Denny Stadium. ESPN2 will broadcast the game. Alabama will play host to Colorado State at 6 p.m. Sept. 16 in a game that will air on ESPN or ESPN2.
Alabama will open the season against Florida State at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
