STARKVILLE — Mississippi State wide receiver Jamal Couch will transfer from the program, MSU officials confirmed Thursday to The Dispatch. The news was first reported by 247 Sports.
The Dispatch is awaiting MSU comment.
Couch, a 6-foot-4, 225-pound Phenix City, Alabama, native, started the season as the backup X receiver to Stephen Guidry, but he hasn’t played in the first two games. His next step remains to be determined.
Couch played a role as injuries mounted on MSU’s receiving corps last year, catching 10 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns.
