First-year head coach Jack Byrd announced The W women’s soccer team 2019 fall schedule Monday morning, highlighted by 10 games at The Owls Soccer Field in the Columbus Soccer Complex.
The 2019 season kicks off on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 20 in Jackson, Miss. against NCAA Division I opponent Jackson State University.
A week later, the Owls will take on another Division I foe Mississippi Valley State University in its first home action on Tuesday, Aug. 27. It will be followed by another home match on Friday, Aug. 30 against Florida College and a road game versus Talladega College on Saturday, Aug. 31.
With a week of rest, The W will have a three-day stretch of play with a home match against Louisiana College (Sept. 5) and road games against Oakwood University (Sept. 6) and Welch College (Sept. 7).
The Owls will continue their time on the road with games against Millsaps College (Sept. 11), LeTourneau University (Sept. 13), and East Texas Baptist University (Sept. 14).
On Sept. 19, The W will return home to host in-state foe Belhaven University before making the trip to Georgia to face LaGrange College on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
The Owls will face Faulkner University in its last road match of the season on Saturday, Sept. 28 before finishing the regular season with a seven-game home game stretch.
To close out the 2019 season, The W will take on Hendrix College (Oct. 4), Oakwood University (Oct. 6), Judson College (Oct. 8), Talladega (Oct. 10), Welch (Oct. 12), Birmingham Southern University (Oct. 20), and Centenary College of Louisiana (Oct. 29).
