Three art workshops this weekend at the Noxubee Wildlife Refuge will lead into the April 22-23 Cotton District Arts Festival.
Organized by the Starkville Area Arts Council (SAAC), the workshops are designed to encourage artists to create in a collaborative, friendly atmosphere, and display their work in the festival”s Art Outdoors exhibit.
A drawing workshop will be held at the Refuge Visitors” Center at 5 p.m. today. A watercolor workshop is scheduled for Saturday at 5 p.m., and a painting workshop is set for Sunday at 5 p.m.
Artists provide their own materials. Participation in the workshops is not required in order to be part of the Art Outdoors exhibit April 23.
Artwork for the Art Outdoors exhibit may be dropped off at the SAAC office in the Greater Starkville Development Partnership on Main Street in Starkville, labeled for the exhibit. All pieces must be framed and ready to sell, priced between $10 and $100. A percentage of each sale benefits the SAAC.
