SPECIAL TO THE DISPATCH
Lowndes County 4-H youth recently competed in the Golden Triangle 4-H Shooting Sports competition held in West Point March 10, with other youth from Clay, Oktibbeha and Monroe Counties.
Lowndes County youth competed in air rifle, air pistol, .22 rifle, shotgun, archery and black powder. Lowndes participants won 33 first place medals, 17 second place medals and 10 third place medals.
Youth from Lowndes County that competed include: Walker McCullough, Jadon Oneil, Brandi McCullough, Zach Oneil, Andrew Weathers, Chace Pennington, Dalton Alexander, Jacob Sudduth, Jacob Lowery, Andrew Gill, Corey Kilgore, Zach Cox, Corey Pennington, Jesse Robles, Tanner Holley, Eli Taylor, Chance Berry, Isaiah Wells, Alexis Harris, Hunter Harris, Spencer Wallingford, Chandler BoBo, Sam Cooper, Andrew Weathers, Derek Hilfiker, Daniel Gill, Shelton Wallingford, Sawyer Brown, Eli Taylor, Deashia Dora and Marybeth Collins.
Also competing were Nathan Wright, Brody Alexander, Joshua Taylor, Laura McNeil, Jordan Taylor, Eli Alexander, Will Alexander, Justin Cooper, Morgan Hilfiker, James Beard, Michael Mathew, Dillon Mullins, Jenna Barksdale, Justin Beard, Evan Riggs, Coen Mooney, Sarah Cox, Hayden Palmer, Grace Lowery, Hunter Harris, Joshua Taylor, Annabeth Brock, Preston Scott, Emmanuel Miller, James Wallace, Gabby Wallace, Peyton Stanich, Abigail Harner, Sara Lowery, Jonathan Pounders, Seth Brown, Oliver Harner, Tristan Herring, David Stokes, Austin Stokes, Peyton Stanich and Joshua Stanich.
Coaches were Jeff Harris, Jeff Hendrix, Stu Wright, Lee Huelett, Bill and Mattie Quick, Harold and Elaina Critcher, George Corbell and Ben Kilgore.
4-H Youth will also compete April 28 in the Northeast Regional 4-H Shooting Sports Competition in Blue Springs, against youth from 22 Mississippi counties.
