The United States Achievement Academy announces that Tyra Shenice Brooks of Columbus has been recognized as a student of excellence for honor roll. The Academy recognizes fewer than 10 percent of all American students.
Brooks attends West Lowndes Middle School and was nominated for this honor by mathematics teacher, DeShana McLemore.
She will appear in the United States Achievement Academy’s Official Yearbook which is published nationally.
The Academy recognizes students upon the exclusive recommendation of teachers and the Standards for Selection. The Standards include academic performance, interest and aptitude, leadership qualities, responsibility, enthusiasm, motivation to learn and improve, attitude and cooperative spirit, dependability and recommendation from a qualified sponsor.
The student is the daughter of Brenda Brooks and Tyrone Porter of Columbus.
