Mississippi State alumni groups will host send-off parties for local students around the country who are enrolling in the university for the first time.
Co-sponsored by the MSU Alumni Association and Office of Admissions and Scholarships, the events to be held July 20 through Aug. 9 across Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Texas and other states will signal the start of a new school year.
“Send-off Parties are a great opportunity for our alumni chapters around the nation to serve our university,” stated John P. Rush, vice president for development and alumni. “These events allow our alumni and friends to communicate the values and mission of Mississippi State, while also spreading school spirit to their neighbors and friends.”
During the 2013 parties, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from the Office of Admissions and Scholarships, the Alumni Association and other campus units to answer specific questions regarding life at MSU. One or more university faculty or staff members will be at each gathering.
Send-off parties are also a great opportunity for prospective students and their parents to learn more about what State has to offer.
All incoming and prospective students attending will receive a 2013 send-off T-shirt.
