Mary Helen Porter of Columbus has been accepted and will attend Interlochen School of the Arts Camp located in northwest Michigan. The 16-year-old will study visual arts at the camp.
Mary Helen attended Starkville Academy this past year, where she was selected for the National Honor Society, Varsity Cheer, Anchor Club and the Art Club. She earned art awards in four judged art events. She has been accepted for her junior year at Interlochen Arts Academy for the 2013-14 academic year, where she will study comparative art and complete her high school requirements.
Interlochen Arts Camp attracts students, faculty and staff from all 50 states and more than 40 countries. Student-artists learn from world-class instructors and produce hundreds of presentations in dance, theater, creative writing, visual arts, music and film,.
