Lowndes County 4-H youth Lauren Revel competed at the Northeast District and Dixie National Livestock Shows in Verona Jan. 24-25 and the Dixie National Junior Roundup in Jackson Feb. 5. The 15-year-old is the daughter of Michael Revel and Kaylee Englett-Revel.
Her placings at the Northeast District 4-H Livestock Show were first place in Dairy Goat Showmanship 14-15 year olds; first place Senior Lamancha Doe-Grand Champion Senior Lamancha Doe and Overall Grand Champion Senior Doe; first place Junior Lamancha Doe and Grand Champion Junior Lamancha Doe. Lauren also received the Roy Cooper Memorial Sportsmanship Award for Sportsmanship and Leadership .
Dixie National Junior Roundup placings were: first place Senior Does-Lamancha Dairy Goats; Champion Lamancha Senior Doe; first place Junior Does-Lamancha Dairy Goats; second place 14-15 year old Showmanship.
