“American Idol” auditions are headed to Mississippi. The popular singing competition series will bring the American Idol bus to the Union Plaza at the University of Mississippi to audition contestants June 30 for the 15th, and final, season of the show.
Oxford is one of only two Southern locations for the bus tour auditions, making it a central place for those living in Memphis, Tennessee; New Orleans; Birmingham, Alabama; and Nashville to showcase their talents for a chance at a recording contract. The other regional location for the bus tour is Athens, Georgia, with arena auditions to be held later in Little Rock, Arkansas, and Savannah, Georgia.
Contestants between the ages of 15 and 28 are eligible to audition beginning at 9 a.m. June 30. The final season will air later this year on the Fox network.
