Downtown Columbus merchants and Main Street Columbus announce a Downtown Christmas Open House Friday through Sunday, Nov. 6-8. Businesses will be open Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6-7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday, Nov. 8 from 1-5 p.m.
“Each year, we anxiously await the arrival of the holiday season, a time to celebrate with our families, reminisce about the past and make new memories for the future,” said Main Street Columbus Executive Director Barbara Bigelow. “This is an exciting, unique opportunity for the many downtown merchants to showcase their products, including great food, clothing, gifts, jewelry, art and more.”
Festive storefronts and decorations will welcome shoppers who are encouraged to register for a grand door prize consisting of gift certificates from the participating stores.
The Open House kicks off a season of downtown holiday events for Main Street Columbus, including the Holiday Farmers’ Market Nov. 21, the lighting of the city Christmas tree Nov. 30 at the east end of the Old Highway 82 pedestrian bridge at the Riverwalk, Wassail Fest Dec. 4 and the Columbus Christmas Parade Dec. 12.
“The holidays bring a special magic to the air, and the Christmas Open House is the first sign that the season has begun,” remarked Bigelow.
For more information about holiday events, contact Main Street Columbus at 662-328-6305, or any participating business.
