Santa dropped by a little early to the Columbus-Lowndes Humane Society (CLHS) this year. On Dec. 19, a donation of $4,250 was made by 4 Paws for a Cause to the shelter on Airline Road.
Designed specifically to support CLHS, the nonprofit 4 Paws fundraising organization is affiliated with and sponsored by Animal Clinic of Columbus. Volunteers conducted numerous pet-friendly events throughout 2016, including a 5K Fun Run, a Celebarktion with canine games, and Pet Pictures with Santa. It also hosted Puppy Foam Parties — dog washes — during summer months. Community support made the substantial year-end donation possible.
“And we currently have a calendar for sale at Animal Clinic of Columbus containing pictures of all of our events for next year,” said clinic veterinarian Dr. Kerry Blanton. Calendars may be purchased at Animal Clinic of Columbus, 3157 Highway 45 N. All proceeds go to the CLHS.
“They love us, and we love them,” said CLHS Director Karen Johnwick. “We’re very thankful and honored that they have chosen us to support — just a big, heartfelt thank you to them. They’re awesome.”
