U.S. Army National Guard Spc. Don N. Kazery III has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Jackson, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, as well as military courtesy, drill and ceremony and the military justice system.
The soldier also completed rigorous physical-fitness training and foot marches and underwent instruction and practice in rifle marksmanship, bayonet use, unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, basic first aid and chemical warfare.
Kazery is the son of Don N. and Terri T. Kazery of Jackson.
He is a 2006 graduate of a home school program in Jackson. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2014 from Mississippi State University.
