As part of its efforts to promote fine arts, the Cotton District Arts Festival hosts an annual Juried Arts Exhibit. Winners for Starkville Area Arts Council’s 2019 CDAF Juried Arts Exhibit were announced April 13 at the gallery showing in the Visual Arts Center Gallery at MSU. An extended showing of this exhibit is currently on display in the lobby of the Greater Starkville Development Partnership at 200 Main St., Starkville, until May 11.
Each year, the CDAF hosts a carefully juried arts exhibit, showing works from local and regional artists ages 18 and older. To be selected is an honor in itself. This year’s juror was Kate Cherry, the executive director for the Meridian Museum of Arts. This year’s winners in each category are:
For Merit Awards/Named Sponsor Awards, donors sponsor prizes that function as special recognition for outstanding works, as selected by the juror. These prizes are paid to the artists for the works listed below:
