With 4-H, it’s all about youth building life skills through hands-on projects ranging from science and agriculture to health and civic engagement. So, a Learn by Doing 4-H Camp July 22-23 at the Mississippi State University Lowndes County Extension facility west of Columbus was filled with learning about robotics, archery, horses, ATV safety, poultry, gardening, goats, shooting sports, grilling demonstrations, wildlife and nutrition.
Under the guidance of 4-H leaders, Extension agents and volunteers, kids ages 8-18 gained knowledge and skills that boost self-confidence and independence — all while experiencing what 4-H stands for: head, heart, hands and health.
