The Mississippi Chapter of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge will hold an annual fall gathering at Lake Tiak-O’Khata in Louisville. Veterans, their families and all others interested are invited to the event that begins at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 with a social time, followed by a Dutch lunch and brief program. A former World War II pilot will speak.
The chapter, though small in number, has previously funded scholarships and accomplished other projects, such as establishing a memorial at the war museum at Camp Shelby.
“This group is still active, and anyone is welcome to come that’s interested in learning about (the Battle of the Bulge),” said chapter member James Hunt.
Members of the VFW Post 4272 Riders Guard will ride motorcycles to the gathering in honor of the Battle of the Bulge veterans.
For more information about the gathering, contact Hunt at 662-328-8959.
