Caroline Jones Turner of Smithstation, Ala., and James Denton Harpole of Columbus, were married April 18, 2009, at 5 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Columbus, Ga., with the Rev. Francis Hazelhurst Turner III officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Epting Turner of Smithstation. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Francis Hazelhurst Turner Jr.and the late Mr. Turner of Pittsview, Ala., and Mrs. Max Wayne Culbreth and the late Mr. Culbreth of Pine Mountain, Ga. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Joseph Epting Turner. Dorothy Clare Turner of Smiths, Ala., sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. The bride's other attendants were Carolyn Trotter Crittenden, Christine Lester Harpole, Lydia Knizley Johnson, Lowrey Arrington Williams and Ann Harpole Roth, all of Birmingham, Ala., Corey Kate Hinton of Auburn, Ala., Holly Lorraine McMahan of Seale, Ala., Cathryn Griffin Pease of Columbus, Ga., and Courtney Mazzola Riggin of Charlotte, N.C. The flower girl was Peyton Beville Roth. The readers were Ashleigh Ruth Land of Jacksonville, Fla., and Charles Albert Mazzola Jr. of Opelika, Ala. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Richie Harpole of Columbus. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Ector Harpole of Columbus, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Francis Beville of Mobile, Ala. Mr. Allen Richie Harpole, father of the groom, was the best man. The groom's other attendants were Lewis Taylor Beville, Nathan William Cauley, John Allen Harpole and John Herbert Roth, all of Birmingham, Ala., Benjamin Holt Jeter of Franklin, Tenn., Joseph Epting Turner Jr. of Auburn, Ala., Richard Hill Turner of Pensacola, Fla., and Andrew Wayne Wamble of Jackson. After a wedding trip to Playa Mujeres, Mexico, the couple resides in Baton Rouge, La.
