Lashonda McLeod of Washington, D.C. and Julius Harper of New Orleans, Louisiana, exchanged wedding vows at 5 p.m. Sept. 13, 2019, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McLeod in Columbus, with the Rev. Jessie Slater officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McLeod of Columbus. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ella Little and the late Mr. Eddie James Little Sr. of Columbus, the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anders of Sumrall, and the late Mr. Thomas McLeod Sr. of Hattiesburg. She is a graduate of Columbus High School and Alcorn State University and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The bride wore a white traditional cocktail dress from Mexico. She was given in marriage by her parents. Sonja McLeod of Atlanta, Georgia, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Harper of Laurel. He is the grandson of Mrs. Velma Jordan and the late Cleo Jordan and Mrs. Mattie Harper and the late Johnny Harper, all of Laurel. Johnny Harper, father of the groom, served as best man. The groom is a graduate of Alcorn State University and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Following a wedding trip to Beijing, China, where the bride is currently assigned, the couple resides in New Orleans, where the groom is a production supervisor at Sanderson Farms. The bride is an U.S. Diplomat and Foreign Service Officer.
