STARKVILLE — Investigators this morning were on the scene of a fatal house fire in Oktibbeha County.
Firefighters were dispatched Saturday night to a blaze at 2331 Williams Road, just south of Starkville. The house already was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, Oktibbeha County Fire Services Coordinator Kirk Rosenhan said.
One person died in the blaze, though fire officials have not yet released the victim”s identity.
Rosenhan and investigators from the State Fire Marshal”s office were at the scene this morning. Additional information is forthcoming.
“This was a very hot and very big fire,” Rosenhan said.
