A 45-year-old log-truck driver was seriously injured when his truck overturned Tuesday in Lowndes County, shutting down Highway 50 for more than two hours.
Bobby Darwin Jr., of Hamilton, Ala., drove off Highway 50 near Tabernacle Road, east of Columbus, at about 11:30 a.m., according to Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Brian Mobley.
Darwin was taken in serious condition to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, where he remained today in stable condition.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation today, Mobley said.
