WEST POINT – A Clay County woman has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for helping lure her brother into a fight that resulted in the fatal shooting of her boyfriend.
Tiffany Barnhill Johnson pleaded guilty to a reduced charge in the case. The 21-year-old woman was ordered to pay a $100 fine after pleading guilty to misdemeanor conspiracy to falsely commit a crime.
WCBI- TV said she had been charged with felony conspiracy for luring her brother, Jeremy Barnhill, down rural Jack Williams Road in January 2010 so her boyfriend, Curtis Clardy could fight him. The confrontation resulted in Barnhill shooting and killing Clardy.
A Clay County jury ruled Jeremy Barnhill acted in self-defense and found him not guilty of manslaughter or murder.
