HAMILTON — A Hamilton man found dead on Monday died of natural causes, said Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley.
State Medical Examiner Dr. Mark LeVaughn conducted an autopsy on the body of Robert Reed, 81, whose body was found near his home in a field, Monday afternoon.
No trauma was found on the body.
Though no definitive cause of death could be determined by the autopsy “due to the length of time between his death and the time the body was found,” LeVaughn also believed Reed died of natural causes, Gurley wrote in a press release.
“I have (also) ruled death from natural causes probably due to his past history and also age being a factor,” he continued.
A neighbor had been looking for Reed for several days, but it was never reported to police.
His neighbors found Reed”s body at about 2:45 p.m. Monday about 200 yards in front of his home in a grassy field.
