Five people were arrested Sunday and charged with felony malicious mischief after damaging a car at Ace 21 Apartments.
Oktibbeha County Sheriff”s Office deputies responded to a 911 call from a resident about her black Toyota Camry being scratched, spray painted with graffiti and shot with a firearm through the rear window.
Terrontay Cunningham, 18, of 829 Cader St., Greenville; Jasmine Smith, 19, of 1068 Cannon St., Starkville; and Keyosha Suber, 18, of 987 Caldwell St., Starkville, were charged with felony malicious mischief.
Charles Kibbee, 18, of 1740 Billings St., Greenville, was charged with felony malicious mischief and possession of a firearm on campus.
Suber and Kibbee are freshman students at Mississippi State University.
One juvenile was also arrested.
OCSO cannot release the name of the victim.
OCSO Chief Deputy George Carrithers estimated the damage to the vehicle was “thousands of dollars.” Because of the worth of the vehicle — the model is believed to be a 2011 — and the extensive damage the five received felony mischief charges instead of misdemeanors.
“There”s not a place on it that”s not scratched,” Carrithers said. “There”s paint on the car everywhere.”
Cunningham, Suber and Smith posted $5,000 bond and have been released; Kibbee was released on $5,000 bond for the mischief charge and $5,000 for the weapons charge.
Justice court dates have not been set.
