WEST POINT — West Point police are looking for the person responsible for the murder of a Columbus man.
At 10:51 p.m. Friday, Clay County 911 received calls of gunshots fired and someone lying in the road on Brady Street.
Officers found LeAndre Johnson, 42, of Columbus, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene by Clay County Coroner Alvin Carter Jr., according to a West Point Police Department news release.
No additional details were provided. No arrests have been made, and a suspect has not been named.
The police department, Clay County Coroner’s Office and Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics are currently gathering information.
