PHILADELPHIA — The state auditor’s office is seeking $1.3 million from three former Neshoba County employees who were fired during an investigation into overtime pay discrepancies.
State Auditor Stacey Pickering announced the demand Wednesday in a news released.
Pickering says former bookkeeper Jill Watkins, ex-payroll clerk Tammy Gomillion and former purchasing clerk Faye Russell are accused of fraudulently submitting 30,000 overtime hours over the past six years.
He says the three salaried employees did not actually work the overtime hours nor did they receive proper approval to work overtime.
Gomillion, Russell, and Watkins were fired in 2014. Demands were served on the individuals on June 26.
