A Columbus man is facing 17 felony charges — each one involving either weapons or drugs — after his Tuesday arrest.
Claub Tate, 53, was arrested when authorities from the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force arrived at his residence at 108 Daisy Drive, according to LCSO.
Tate was wanted on eight warrants, including possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, four counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana more than one ounce and trafficking a controlled substance.
Authorities say they found more controlled substances at Tate’s home, including cocaine, morphine, vyvance, oxycodene and five more weapons. It is unknown what type of weapons. Messages left with LCSO were not returned.
Tate was transported to the Lowndes County Detention Center where he was booked. His bond on the charges stemming from the warrants was $40,000. He is awaiting arraignment on the new charges.
