When Mississippi State Director of Athletics Scott Stricklin indeed accepts the same title at the University of Florida today, it presumably will directly impact the Starkville-Oktibbeha Consolidated School District Board of Trustees.
Starkville aldermen appointed Stricklin’s wife, Anne Stricklin, to the school board in September 2015. She filled the term left vacant by Juliette Weaver-Reese, which expires in 2019.
School officials would not comment to The Dispatch Monday on Anne Stricklin’s board status, other than to confirm the district had not received a letter of resignation from her.
Anne Stricklin said through school officials she would not comment publicly about her future on the board until an official announcement is made about her husband’s job status.
A Starkville native, Anne is the daughter of Basketball Hall of Famer Bailey Howell.
