A Clay County man is in jail for allegedly shooting his wife at least five times.
Deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office arrested Damaris Quinn, 33, after he apparently shot his wife in a domestic dispute in their home on Pine Grove Road Tuesday around 11 a.m. Quinn was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. He will also be charged either with aggravated assault domestic violence or attempted murder, Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott said.
The victim was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point where she was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She has undergone surgery and is in stable condition.
Scott said CCSO and the District Attorney’s Office held off on pressing charges at first to see how the victim’s surgery went.
