Starkville Utilities issued a boil-water notice for a portion of Greensboro Street, between Gladney and Whitfield streets, through Friday.
The notice comes after an extended water outage affected the area.
Water to be consumed or used to wash uncooked vegetables or other foods should be boiled for at least two minutes prior to use.
The boil-water notice will remain in place until 5 p.m. Friday unless a new alert is issued.
