An Oktibbeha County man who escaped law enforcement custody in Calhoun County was found in Webster County on Friday.
Webster County Deputy Blake Love said officers arrested Daniel Easley, 38, after he emerged from a wooded area near Spring Valley Road at about 4:30 p.m.
Easley was apparently hiding in the woods at the time, near a family home, when someone he knew arrived at the location, Love said. From there, Love said Easley approached his mother, said he was hungry and asked for food. His mother then fed him and called 911 to alert authorities about her son’s appearance, Love said.
Easley was taken back to Calhoun County.
A Calhoun County police cruiser Easley allegedly escaped in was found abandoned near Maben at about 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 27.
He was in custody on a burglary charge and also faces a pair of arson charges stemming from Clay County. Easley was arrested in Clay County for his alleged tie to the 2015 West Point stockyards fire and an arson of a residence.
