The Lowndes County School District elected new officers to its board on Jan. 13 at its regular meeting.
The board elects new officers yearly.
Board member Wesley Barrett, who has served on the board since 2012, is the new board president, nominated by former board president Brian Clark.
Clark is now the new vice president of the board, nominated by former vice president Robert Barksdale. Clark was appointed to the board in 2010, taking over for his father who had died.
Board Secretary Jane Kilgore will remain in that position.
Board Attorney Jeff Smith, board architect Joey Henderson, 16th Section land appraiser Tina Richards and disciplinary hearing officer Gary Goodwin will each continue their roles in their respective positions.
