Three men are in custody at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center after allegedly breaking into multiple cars and stealing various items, including firearms, in the New Hope area.
Deputies with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office arrested Robert Butler III, 19, of 315 Florence St., John Williams, Jr., 21, of 1811 Sixth Ave. N., and Kennedy Chandler, Jr., 20, of 805 10th St. N., #10, early Friday morning. They stole mostly pistols and, at least, one long gun, he added.
Butler was charged with seven counts of burglary of an automobile, Williams with five counts and Chandler with four counts. Each was charged with two counts of possession of stolen firearms.
Williams was also charged with one misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
The suspects’ bonds have not yet been set.
