Officers with the Columbus Police Department have made one arrest related to the Sunday morning shooting outside a downtown Columbus night club and are searching for another.
Terrance Lamar Williams, 24, of 1012 Fourth St. South is in custody at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center. Police arrested and charged him with three counts of aggravated assault for allegedly shooting into vehicles outside The Princess Theater at about 1 a.m. Sunday. Williams was arrested Monday night according to Assistant Chief Fred Shelton.
Investigators are also asking the public’s help locating Morris Dyonte Lanier, 31, of 132 Maple St. Police have named Lanier a person of interest in the same shooting.
Police responded to a call of shots fired outside The Princess Theater downtown where they found several vehicles — two of which were occupied — had been shot at. No one was injured in the shooting. Investigators recovered multiple shell casings in several different areas near the night club and on Fifth Street.
CPD officials are asking anyone with information on the shooting or Lanier’s whereabouts to contact them at 244-3500 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.
