Authorities are offering a reward for the capture of a suspect believed to be involved in multiple armed robberies, including one Tuesday at a Sprint Mart.
The suspect entered the Sprint Mart on Highway 69 just after 8:15 p.m. and pointed a handgun at the clerk, according to a press release from Columbus Police Department. The clerk hid herself in the back room. When the suspect couldn’t get the store’s cash register open, he robbed a customer at the back of the store.
Police believe the same suspect committed robberies at the Express Mart on Main Street July 17 and the River Hill Chevron on July 18. The press release describes him as a black male with light complexion and dread locks, approximately 5-foot-10.
Authorities are asking anyone with information on the suspect to call Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151. Anyone who can give sworn statements that lead to the arrest and conviction of suspects who commit armed robbery in Columbus may earn a $5,000 reward. For more information on the reward, call 877-273-4552.
