A man with multiple warrants for his arrest has turned himself in to Columbus Police Department.
Dennis Deon Hicks, Jr., 31, of Alabama Street, is wanted for suspicion of multiple felonies, including making harassing phone calls, stalking, trespassing and burglary, according to a CPD press release. He may face other charges. Police Chief Fred Shelton told The Dispatch Hicks has been harassing the same woman in separate incidents, which is why he has multiple charges.
Last week, police issued an alert asking the public for assistance finding Hicks
Hicks turned himself in Monday, which Shelton said was due to public pressure.
"There were several warrants out on Mr. Hicks, and the exposure from the media and the public resulted in him coming to the police station voluntarily and put a peaceful end to this situation," Shelton said in the release.
Hicks is currently in custody at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center. His bond has not been set.
