Columbus police are asking the public’s help identifying a man who has repeatedly called a Columbus business and harassed women answering the phone.
The individual began calling the business in September and increased in frequency over the last few weeks, according to a Columbus Police Department press release. The man calls at various times of day and makes sexual comments to women who receive the calls.
The press release said the man has made “hundreds” of the calls.
CPD has released an audio clip of the suspect’s voice in the hopes someone recognizes it.
In the audio, the suspect repeatedly asks a woman on the phone if she’s married, what time she gets off work and other inappropriate questions.
“Listen to the recording and give Crime Stoppers a call,” CPD Chief Fred Shelton said. “Even if you are not sure, call us and let us investigate. We don’t want the name of the person calling Crime Stoppers, only the name of the suspect. Anonymous calls are encouraged.”
Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers can be reached at 800-530-7151.
