ABERDEEN — A 22-year-old Aberdeen man has been charged with stabbing his cousin in the chest during an argument Saturday in Monroe County.
James Eugene Dean was arrested shortly after Monroe County deputies found the 37-year-old victim inside a residence on Tubb Road at 10:03 p.m. Saturday.
The victim and Dean had allegedly gotten into a physical altercation earlier, according to Monroe County Sheriff Andy Hood.
Investigators believe Dean left the scene after the stabbing.
The defendant was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault. His bond had not been set Monday.
The victim was taken to Gilmore Memorial Hospital and later transported by helicopter to the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Family members reported to the sheriff”s office that he was in stable condition Monday.
