Kathy Willcutt is determined to keep fabric work and sewing relevant in the Golden Triangle.
Willcutt has mastered sewing through numerous training classes and nearly 45 years of practice. On Friday, she’ll open Magnolia Heirlooms, 404 Wilkins Wise Road, for those interested in quilting, sewing and learning more about her craft.
She will offer classes for children to adults and beginner to expert. Interested customers can stay up to date on the company’s Facebook page until the website launches. Customers can start their own projects with all the supplies needed to quilt, sew or embroider. She will also offer personalized monogramming.
“Fabric stores are kind of hard to find,” Willcutt said. “They are dwindling everywhere across the nation. We wanted to keep it alive and going in this area. I’ve sewn for around 45 years. … It’s been a dream to always teach the craft and keep it alive.”
Magnolia Heirlooms will be open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Out in Caledonia, you’ll find a new coffee shop opened this morning. The Grind, 9681 Wolfe Road, will be open Monday through Saturday 6 a.m.-6 p.m. If you’re looking for a caffeine buzz and need some coffee to start your day, head over to The Grind to find hot or ice coffee and macchiatos.
Over in Starkville, the Midtown Development is gaining a new tenant.
I Just Have to Have It, a women’s boutique, is branching out to its third location in Starkville this month at 401 University Dr., Suite 4.
The boutique first opened in Madison, and opened a second location in Oxford. The Dispatch could not reach a store representative by press time today. According to its Facebook page, the store’s operating hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
I Just Have to Have It will offer every girl the perfect outfit for rush, tailgating or a weekend at insanely affordable prices. Stay up to date on the boutique’s Facebook page for its opening day.
