A Columbus woman was arrested after she allegedly used someone else’s credit card give money to her daughter in prison.
Laura Pope, 49, of Westview Lane, has been charged with felony credit card fraud. Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office investigator Lt. Tony Cooper said Pope used another individual’s card to transfer funds to her daughter’s personal canteen account in prison.
Her daughter is in Mississippi Department of Corrections custody on grand larceny conviction, Cooper said.
Pope is in custody at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center on $3,500 bond.
