The Federal Emergency Management Agency Disaster Recovery Center in Columbus will be open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m on Saturdays and will also be open for its regular weekday hours (9 a.m. until 6 p.m.) on Columbus Day (Monday).
The Columbus DRC is located in the East Columbus Gym at 22 Lawrence Dr.
FEMA officials suggest those in need of assistance as a result of the Feb. 23 tornado and area flooding, visit the DRC on the Columbus Day holiday if work duties may have prevented them from seeking assistance.
There, people can meet with representatives from FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration and other state, federal and volunteer agencies. These personnel are available at the DRC to explain their programs and to offer guidance in navigating the FEMA application process. Applicants should have their FEMA registration number and Social Security number when visiting a DRC.
Those seeking assistance are advised to register with FEMA before visiting a DRC. To register, visit DisasterAssistance.gov or call 800-621-3362.
