Lowndes County Circuit Court Judges Jim Kitchens Jr. and Lee Howard handed down the following sentences during the final weeks of the August term that ended Friday:
Kitchens presiding:
- Douglas Kimble, of 7003 Okolona Terrace in Okolona, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine precursors. He was sentenced to 15 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections with five years of post-release supervision and was fined $5,000.
- Kenneth Minor, of 112 Deerfield Drive in Columbus, pleaded guilty to being a habitual offender in possession of cocaine less than .1 gram, reduced from possession of cocaine greater than .1 gram. He was sentenced to four years in MDOC without eligibility for probation or parole.
- Christopher Burns, of 28 N. Church St. in Caledonia, pleaded guilty to burglary of a dwelling. He was sentenced to 20 years in MDOC with five years of post-release supervision and was ordered to pay $112,650 in restitution to Alfa Insurance, Progressive Insurance and three other victims.
- Brandon Bursell, of 12314 Country Road Nine in Millport, Ala., pleaded guilty to possession of meth precursors. He was sentenced to nine years in MDOC with five years of post-release supervision and was ordered to pay a reduced fine of $1,000.
- Tedrick Liddell, of 314 Allen Bend Road in Macon, pleaded guilty to receiving property stolen from Biddy Saw Works. He was sentenced to five years probation and was fined $250.
- Matthew Morrison of 2441 Tabernacle Road, pleaded guilty to statutory rape. Half of his 20 years in MDOC was suspended, leaving him with 10 years to serve and five years of post-release supervision.
- Shamor Billups, of 1903 Second Ave. N., pleaded guilty to burglary of a building and grand larceny. He received consecutive sentences of five years in MDOC for each charge, was fined a total of $500 and ordered to pay restitution of $1,070.
- John R. Ryans, of 303 Fifth Ave. S.E. in Red Bay, Ala., pleaded guilty to grand larceny. He was sentenced to five years in MDOC, five years of post-release supervision, fined $200 and ordered to pay $3,907.44 in restitution.
- Dillon Conn, of 126 Matson Road in Columbus, pleaded guilty to the sale of oxycodone and the sale of hydrocodone. He received concurrent sentences of 10 years in MDOC with five years of post-release supervision and was fined $1,000.
- Jimmy Malone, of 184 Malone St. in Crawford, pleaded guilty to possession of a stolen firearm. His five-year sentence was suspended, leaving five years probation and a $200 fine.
- Albert D. Chism Jr., of 1119 Barksdale Road in West Point, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to manufacture meth. He was sentenced to 12 years in MDOC with five years of post-release supervision and was fined $1,000.
- Larry Bigbee, of 1407 16th Ave. N. in Columbus, pleaded guilty to perjury and possession of cocaine. He was sentenced to one year in MDOC with five years of post-release supervision and fined $250 for the first charge. He received a second, consecutive sentence of eight years in MDOC for the other charge.
Howard presiding:
- Virgil L. Harris, of 134 Beech St., pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine greater than .1 gram but less than 2 grams. He received concurrent sentences of six years and three years in MDOC with five years of post-release supervision and was fined $2,500.
- Perry Blansett, of 8061 Highway 12 E. in Columbus, pleaded guilty to burglarizing the Hose R Down car wash in Steens. He was sentenced to three years in MDOC with four years of post-release supervision, fined $500 and ordered to pay $2,474.38 in restitution.
- Jerry Lewis, of 495 Shady Lane in Columbus, pleaded guilty to possession of a stolen firearm. He was sentenced to five years probation, fined $500 and ordered to pay restitution of $1,200.
- Neil Wright, of 4785 Highway 12 E. in Caledonia, pleaded guilty to grand larceny. He was sentenced to 10 years in MDOC, fined $500 and ordered to pay $1,989 in restitution.
- Derek Johnson, of 1705 Fifth St. S. in Columbus, pleaded guilty to burglary of an automobile. His sentence of seven years in MDOC was suspended, leaving him with five years probation and a $500 fine.
- Phillip M. Steward, of 4810 Airbase Trailer Park in Columbus, pleaded guilty to possession of morphine and possession of oxycodone greater than 40 dosage units. He received concurrent sentences of 10 years in MDOC with five years post-release supervision and was fined $2,500.
- Dustin Wright, of 9 Coon Hunters Cove in Columbus, pleaded guilty to burglary of a dwelling. He was sentenced to six years in MDOC with five years of post-release supervision, fined $200 and ordered to pay restitution of $950.
- Russell Sparks, of 614 Pine St. in Columbus, pleaded guilty to statutory rape. He was sentenced to 10 years in MDOC with five years of post-release supervision and fined $1,500.
- Maria Bruce, of 1018 Shady St., pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, reduced from sale of cocaine. Her eight year sentence was suspended, giving her five years of post-release supervision with a $1,500 fine.
- Hortense Williams, of 605 Oak St., pleaded guilty to three counts of sale of cocaine. He received consecutive sentences, earning a total of 12 years in MDOC with five years of post-release supervision and $15,000 in fines.
- Lashay B. Wilder, of 1006 Fourth St. S., pleaded guilty to felony shoplifting. She was sentenced to one year in MDOC with four years of post-release supervision, fined $750 and ordered to pay $562.87 in restitution.
- Gary Meadows, of 4177 County Road in Fayette, Ala., pleaded guilty to false pretense. He was sentenced to three years in MDOC and fined $500.
- Justin Stafford, of 601 Fifth Ave. N. in Columbus, pleaded guilty to sexual battery and exploitation of a child. He was concurrenty sentenced to a total of 10 years in MDOC for both offenses with five years post-release supervision and fined a total of $1,500.
