A Starkville man accused in a Sunday morning shooting was arrested Tuesday on several charges, including attempted murder.
Jessie Carpenter, 39, is also charged with possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a weapon by a felon.
Authorities responded at 2:50 a.m. Sunday to reports of a shooting victim at OCH Regional Medical Center, according to the press release. The victim was treated and has been released.
Carpenter is currently in custody at Oktibbeha County Jail on $500,000 bond for the attempted murder. He will receive bonds on the other two charges at municipal court this afternoon, SPD Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady said.
