WEST POINT — The West Point Police Department is searching for two armed robbers considered to be armed and dangerous.
Javon Brown, 21, and an unknown associate allegedly held up three individuals Wednesday around 3 p.m. at 136 Martin Luther King Drive. The assailants were armed with a camouflaged shotgun and a semi-automatic pistol, which they used to strike the victims. At least shot was fired during the assault. No injuries were reported.
Brown is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 140 pounds. No description was available for the second suspect.
The victims reported the men stole a total of $75 from them and fled in a purple Buick Regal. The vehicle was later recovered in eastern Clay County along with one of the weapons used in the robbery.
Brown”s last known address is 181 East Jones St. in West Point. He has been arrested in the past on several counts of burglary.
