WEST POINT — A West Point man wanted for armed robbery and assault is in custody in Missouri.
Javon Brown, 21, was arrested In Perryville, Mo., over the weekend for an unspecified series of felonies which took place in Perryville and 60 miles north in St. Louis. He was wanted in West Point for an armed robbery which took place Wednesday at 136 Martin Luther King Drive.
During the West Point robbery, Brown and an accomplice allegedly robbed three individuals at gun point with a shotgun and a pistol. One of the guns discharged during the robbery when a suspect struck a victim with a gun.
West Point police report they know the identity of the second suspect and are closing in on an arrest.
After Brown faces charges in Missouri, Mississippi officials will seek his extradition to stand trial for the armed robbery and aggravated assault charges. Brown has a history of arrests for robbery.
