A bridge on North Lehmberg Road will stay closed for two weeks while repairs of deteriorating pilings are underway.
The city will close the bridge near Dutch Village on Monday and reopen it on July 7. Drivers can take a detour down West Lehmberg Road during the closure.
Project costs are $48,750, said City Engineer Kevin Stafford. Phillips Contracting is tasked to conduct the repairs for $46,000 and Triangle Maintenance will provide the detour signage for $2,750.
The bridge condition is regularly inspected, Stafford said. The city last repaired the bridge in 2016, he said, when another row of pilings under water was damaged.
